What is GYAN DEEPIKA SCHEME?

It's a government of Assam initiative to provide free textbooks for students pursuing higher education. To help the college students in the current financial year, Govt. of Assam decided to provide an amount fixed for all for purchasing books by students of Govt/provincialized Colleges of Assam. As for now govt of Assam was providing books up to class XII, for this financial year hon'ble finance minister of Assam Himanta Biswa Sharma said "I am also happy to announce that we will provide free textbooks to students up to degree level(Arts, Science & Commerce) from the present level of class XII",

Who is eligible?

Financial assistance under the scheme will be provided to all the degree students of Arts, Science and Commerce of Govt./provincialized Colleges in Assam in this financial year 2019-20. 

Role of College/department

The college will upload a filled-up format for reimbursement of book grant through DBT to degree level students (Arts, Science, and commerce) under the scheme 'Free Text Books" as per Annexure-B in the website DHE Assam.

Terms and conditions:

i. Depaflment will fix the grant amount proportionately among the various streams (Arts, Science, and Commerce) out of the budgeted amount on the basis of the number of students enrolled.
ii. The Govt will provide a grant maximum up to RS. 1000/- (for each Science, Arts and Commerce students). Students will procure the prescribed/ required textbooks related to their curriculum. Reimbursement will be made against the bill amount subject to the maximum amounts mentioned above.
iii. Duly verified Bank details of the beneficiaries (Name as per bank records. bank name, branch name, and address account no., nature of account and IFSC) have to be attached while submitting the proposal.

Email and retrieve your UNIQUE ID for dhe

In my previous blog you guys left a lot many comments regrading issues that you haven't  recieved or forgot your ID. My blog shows a unique way of getting it back. It was not working for a few days which was a matter of concern. One of the student posted in comments his/her details which I forwarded in a mail to DHE and after two days I got a reply. Woo hoo.
